The Expert's Orichalcum Greatsword is a high-tier Gladiator weapon created through Smithing. This is an upgrade craft—you will upgrade an existing sword into a more powerful version. Step 1: Level Your Smithing

Check the recipe in your Smithing menu. If your proficiency is below the requirement, your success rate drops to 40–60%. Raise your skill by crafting lower-tier weapons first. Aim for a green proficiency rating (exceeding the requirement) to reach 95–100% success.

Step 2: Get the Base Weapon

You need one Splendent Orichalcum Greatsword. Obtain it by crafting it, buying it from the Auction House, or looting it from level 35+ dungeon bosses.

Critical warning: This weapon is consumed during crafting. If the craft fails, it is gone. Do not use your only weapon as the base.

Step 3: Gather the Reagents

Expert's Refining Stone x 5 – Drop from elite monsters and world bosses in level 35+ zones (Silent Plateau, Dragonfall Basin). Also available on the Auction House for 10,000–25,000 gold each.

Fine Orichalcum Ore x 6 – Mine from rare nodes in high-level zones or refine from 10x standard Orichalcum Ore. Best farm: Orichalcum Veins in southeastern Cinderlands.

Fine Odyle x 3 – Gather from Odyle Crystals in level 35+ magical zones or drop from spirit-type enemies. Best farm: Whispering Woods at night.

Step 4: Craft the Sword

Stand at a Smithing Anvil in a major city. Open the Smithing menu and navigate to Weapons → Two-Handed Swords → Expert. Locate the recipe.

Before clicking Craft, check two numbers:

Success Rate: Shown in the corner. At minimum requirement, it is 80%. Exceed by 20+ levels for 100%.

Combo Chance: If this triggers, you receive a Master's Orichalcum Greatsword (one tier higher).

Confirm all materials are in your main inventory and the base weapon is unequipped. Then click Execute Craft.

On failure, all materials are lost. On success, you receive your new sword.

Physical Attack: 166–224

Accuracy: 100

Critical Hit: 150

Block: 150

PvE Damage Boost: 5%

Compared to the Splendent version, the Expert's Greatsword offers roughly 22–30 more attack and 25 more Critical Hit.

Final Tips

Do not craft at minimum proficiency. The risk is too high.

Have a backup weapon in case of failure.

Use Blessed Refining Stones if available—they increase Combo chance by 15%. Join a Smithing guild for a 5% success rate bonus.
