In today's video, we’ll be discussing the best playstyles for each position in FC 26 after the latest patch. There are some interesting changes, and I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the top playstyles for different roles on the pitch. Goalkeeper

When it comes to goalkeepers, Far Reach is undoubtedly the most essential playstyle. It's a game-changer, especially with finesse shots, which are common in FC 26. This playstyle gives your keeper an edge in reaching and stopping shots. Following that, Footwork is crucial for blocking low-driven shots, which are highly effective in this patch.

Another underrated playstyle is Deflector. If your keeper doesn’t have it, you might notice that saved shots can rebound to attackers or just slip back into the net. It’s especially useful for avoiding awkward rebounds. Rush Out and Crossclaimer are good too, but Far Throw is entirely irrelevant and can be ignored.

Center-Back

The best playstyles for center-backs are Intercept and Bruiser. Intercept helps you snatch passes and break up attacks, while Bruiser enhances physical presence in duels. Even though I don't personally use Bruiser on my center-backs like Vanderven, it's undoubtedly one of the top picks.

One playstyle that often goes unnoticed is Block. I swear by this one. During the Eve Premier League tournaments, I’ve seen players like Lacroy, who uses Gold Block, make game-changing blocks, often turning the tide of the match. Rapid and Quick Step are also valuable, especially because fullbacks and center-backs need to respond quickly to through balls, which dominate the meta.

Here’s a quick tip: For your center-backs to run efficiently, aim for a lengthy running style. To qualify for this, players need to be at least 6'1" tall with more strength than agility. This makes them faster and more effective.

Fullbacks

For fullbacks, the top two playstyles are once again Intercept and Bruiser. While Bruiser is arguably even more powerful on a fullback, I still consider Intercept to be the most valuable playstyle across the pitch.

You should also aim to add a running playstyle to your fullbacks. Players who can cover ground quickly are vital to defend against through balls. Additionally, Aerial Fortress is an excellent pick to counter any potential increase in crossing meta. With Aerial Fortress, your fullback will dominate headers, a key attribute when defending crosses.

As fullbacks often push forward, you’ll also need strong passing abilities. Playstyles like Ping, Ticky, and Incisive Pass are all effective. When constructing your ideal fullback, think about Intercept, Bruiser, a running playstyle, and a passing playstyle.

Center Midfielders

This position is mostly about personal preference, but the top playstyles for center mids are undoubtedly Incisive, Ticky, and Intercept. Incisive has become the most essential playstyle for midfielders since the patch. While Ticky was more useful pre-patch, it’s now more of a situational playstyle.

If you want an attacking midfielder, add Technical and Finesse to your setup. Low-driven shots are also fantastic for center mids, making them versatile in both attacking and defensive roles. Additionally, Inventive is an underrated playstyle that boosts through-ball effectiveness, which is crucial with the current meta.

For defensive center midfielders, the playstyles to prioritize are Incisive, Ticky, Intercept, and Bruiser. You’ll want them to win the ball and shield the defense efficiently.

Wingers

The best playstyle for wingers depends on the type of winger you want. If you want a winger who can run in behind, be fast, and focus on pace, Lengthy is your best choice. Players like Simeo are incredibly fast, and Lengthy makes them even more effective. Pair that with Finesse, Driven, and Technical, and you’ve got a winger who can outpace anyone.

For a winger that’s better with the ball at their feet, Technical is key. It's the best playstyle if you want your winger to dribble and twist past defenders. For a winger who can do both, go for a combination of Rapid, Quick Step, Technical, Finesse, and Low Driven.

Game Changer Shot is also great for wingers, especially when they’re through on goal. Learning how to use this effectively will turn you into a goal-scoring machine.

Central Attacking Midfielders (CAM)

The best playstyles for a CAM are Gold Incisive and Gold Finesse. These two are perfect for unlocking defenses and scoring goals. Finesse is essential for any CAM, as they’ll often be in positions to shoot. Additionally, Low Driven and Game Changer will further enhance your shooting potential.

For passing, Inventive, Ticky, Long Ball, and Ping are all great options, depending on your playstyle. In terms of defending, don’t worry about intercepts—focus on Technical to ensure your CAM is smooth in build-up play and has quick feet.

Strikers

Strikers need a combination of playstyles that enhance their shooting and positioning. The best playstyles for a striker are Finesse, Driven, and Game Changer. These will make your striker deadly in front of goal, while Ticky and Incisive will make them more responsive to passes and through balls.

If I were to build the perfect striker, I’d go with Gold Finesse, Gold Driven, Silver Game Changer, Silver Incisive, Silver Ticky, Silver Technical, and a running playstyle of choice.
