A Race for Glory: The Doryani Kill Event

Grinding Gear Games has officially announced Path of Exile 2's first major race event, and with it comes a rare and prestigious reward: Demigod's Virtue, a unique item exclusively awarded to the fastest and fiercest among the community.

The event, aptly named "Doryani Kill", will be held on three separate dates to ensure fair participation across global time zones:

·June 1, 2025

·June 8, 2025

Each event pits players in a Standard Solo Self-Found (SSF) realm where they must rush to defeat Doryani, the iconic Vaal-themed boss, without any help, trade, or party support. The fastest player from each class will receive a unique prize and Path of Exile 2 Currency.

Demigod's Virtue: Stats and Function

Introduced in patch 0.1.1e, Demigod's Virtue is designed to be a status symbol more than a powerhouse item. Here's what it offers:

·+25% Increased Item Rarity

·No defensive stats

·Cosmetic potential

This helmet can dramatically increase the quality of your loot, making it a good fit for players aiming to stack item rarity on magic find builds. However, it lacks defensive or offensive utility, placing it in the category of niche or luxury items rather than a core part of any meta build.

Downsides:

·No life, resistances, or armor/evasion/ES

·The affix "Virtuous" on the helmet appears to be cosmetic or flavor-only, with no known gameplay effect

Think of it as a trophy- a wearable badge of honor much like Tabula Rasa in the original Path of Exile. While Tabula offers six sockets, Demigod's Virtue only boosts rarity and provides prestige.

Cosmetic or Trade Option

To make the prize more flexible and less disruptive to balance, winners have the choice to:

1. Use it as a functional item

2. Trade it with other players

3. Convert it into a helmet cosmetic using the /convertracereward command, which overlays its appearance on any other equipped helmet

4. This prevents Demigod's Virtue from becoming a mandatory build item while still maintaining its exclusivity and visual appeal.

How to Participate in the Doryani Kill Race

The entry process is simple and familiar to veterans of Path of Exile 1:

1. Log in to Path of Exile 2 on PC or console during one of the event weekends.

2. Go to the Character Selection Screen and select the Doryani Kill Race Event.

3. Click Join and create a fresh character for the race.

4. You will enter a Standard Solo Self-Found (SSF) realm, meaning:

·No party play

·No poe2 trade

·Pure skill and speed

Each race ends when the first player defeats Doryani using any class. 21 players in total will receive the unique item across all classes and events.

Why It Matters

Though Demigod's Virtue may not shift the endgame meta, its symbolic and cosmetic value is enormous. Just as past PoE race items like Demigod's Triumph became coveted collector's items, this helmet is likely to grow in prestige over time.
